Welcome to Canada's most extensive image library of live performance photographs.

Papilio

Papilio gave us an evening of unplugged acoustic music at the Evergreen Theatre which was pure delight. The members of this group are all accomplished musicians. The group consists of Colin Jeffrey (playing fiddle / vocals), Jennifer Publicover (on flutes / bodhran / vocals), Phil Schappert (playing guitars / bouzouki / vocals). They have a wide repertoire of traditional music including Celtic tunes from Scotland, Ireland, France and Spain (Galicia and Esturias regions in particular) as well as pieces from Scandinavia. Here is the link to Papilio’s image gallery with a beautiful Swedish waltz entitled “Josefins Dopvals” playing over it.

Papilio did an excellent job in sharing with us the joie de vivre (and occasionally the angst) of these different cultures in their interpretations of the pieces for this extremely appreciative audience. The pure tones of the unamplified instruments filled the venue with fluid sweet sounds that transitioned seamlessly and naturally from tune to tune through the sets.

Thank you, Papilio, for giving us all a truly enjoyable evening. We hope you will come back to the Evergreen Soon.

Gallery exhibition : “Reflections of Nova Scotia”

The collection entitled “Reflections of Nova Scotia contains photographic images which are available as fine art prints.

As the title suggests, the images are actual unretouched reflections – in water or in glass – taken from locations around Nova Scotia.

The prints are sized at 20″x13.3″ and are printed on a heavyweight Hahnemuhle Torchon paper. They are available double matted and framed in either a walnut or charcoal solid wood frame (frame colour depends on the print), or matted, backed by museum quality foamboard and in an acid free bag. To purchase contact me for full information. Information about each piece, including the print name drops down from the top. Here is the link to the full gallery of Reflections prints.

These prints can all be viewed in my gallery in Canning, Nova Scotia.

Creaking Tree performance like a Renoir painting at the Evergreen

Try to imagine the performance of a multi-talented string quartet as if it were a Renoir painting such as “The Boating Luncheon”. Imagine the depth and layers of this performance with something of interest happening constantly, constantly changing the focus from one musician to the other and always something different catching your attention the more you watch and listen. This was how I experienced the The Creaking Tree String Quartet’s performance at the Evergreen Theatre. Here is the link to Creaking Trees’ image gallery with a track entitled “The Phoenix’s Lair”.

I hope you enjoy the gallery and the music as much as we enjoyed the evening.
