About

I am a Professional Photographer working currently in Canning, Nova Scotia. I have a studio there – Innovative Imaging Studio – where I work with my wife and business partner, Ellie. Her considerable skills in working with Photoshop, editing, colour management and image optimisation as well as in creating online Flash galleries and websites are invaluable to our work. Her restoration work was featured in the 2nd Edition of Katrin Eisman’s book “Photoshop Restoration and Retouching”.

We offer training in different aspects of photographic work, including Photoshop, image optimisation for print and web output and colour management – we were both trained by Gretag Macbeth on their professional software with the Eye One Pro spectrophotometer and have a fully colour managed studio setup.

I specialise in Product photography and Fine Art Reproduction work in our purpose built studio. In the studio I use a Hassleblad with an Imacon digital back and Broncolor lighting. In addition to printing all of our own work, we also produce exhibition quality prints for other photographers across the continent. Currently we use Epson printers with their archival inks and a wide variety of museum quality papers from Hahnemuhle and Innova.

For my location photography I use Canon professional equipment which is ideal for my purposes as it produces low noise files in the low light conditions in which I do a lot of my work. I am an approved member of CPS (Canon Professional Services).

I have been making performance portraits since the 1970’s when I was a professional musician myself in the UK and since then in France and here in Canada. I support several music events and venues in the province.
