Charlie A’Court and David Myles – Music Nova Scotia “Bringin’ It Home”!
Last Thursday night, April 12th, the packed audience at the Evergreen Theatre in Margaretsville was treated to two outstanding performances, thanks to the wonderful ‘Bringin’ It Home’ program sponsored by Music Nova Scotia.

(David Myles’ gallery) David Myles, recent winner of the the 2006 International Songwriting Competition in the Folk Singer-Songwriter category, opened the evening, accompanied by Kyle Cunjak on Double Bass. The wonderful acoustics of this venue did full justice to David’s performance, including his hauntingly beautiful ‘Take Your Bow’ and when he began to sing what has almost become a signature tune – his award winning ‘When it Comes My Turn’ the audience almost drowned him out, bringing a broad smile to David’s face. The photo gallery of his performance is now live on the Evergreen Theatre 2007 page (on the second screen) , accompanied by a track ‘Last Night’ from his latest CD ‘Things Have Changed’ . Thank you for an outstanding performance, David, which made this night an unforgettable one. I hope we see you back at the Evergreen very soon again!

(Charlie’s gallery) The teaser of the guitar with Charlie cross-stitched on the strap (by his mother) now leads us to our second exciting performance of the evening. Charlie A’Court, accompanied by a 4 piece band and backup singer gave a performance that quite literally almost did ‘Bring On the Storm’! Charlie whose latest CD ‘Bring on the Storm’ was winner of the ECMA 2007 Pop Recording of the Year Award was backed by Carl Laudadio on Bass Guitar, Keith Mullins on drums, Kim Dunnit on Keyboards, Jason Mingo on Guitar and Meaghan Smith on vocals. From the rocking performance of the title track of that CD (which you can hear on his photo gallery on this site) to his moving rendition of Willie Nelson’s ‘Heartache of a Fool’, Charlie’s set was phenomenal and will no doubt be remembered for a long time to come by all who were fortunate enough to be in attendance. Thanks to Charlie and all the band!
Our thanks again go to Music Nova Scotia for bringng such outstanding performances to the rural areas of Nova Scotia in their ‘Bringin’ it Home’ program.
