Ron Sexsmith is a Canadian singer-songwriter who is renowned worldwide and much admired not only by his fans, but also by musicians that are household names including Paul McCartney and Elton John and many more. That night we were in no doubt as to why this was so. The emotions that he evokes with his eloquent lyrics touch a chord with everyone who has ever observed the world around us. He sang many of the songs from his latest CD “Time Being” and gave us a preview of one from his next album, to be released next year – an especially intimate moment in the evening as he sat alone at the keyboard and seemed relaxed and comfortable with us. His audience was made up of fans old and new and later in the evening he happily played requests that were called out to him – Strawberry Blonde, Lemonade Stand, A Reason for Our Love, Dandelion Wine and more.

I hope that you make your way back to Nova Scotia again, Ron. Thanks for a great performance!

Ably assisted by the amazing keyboard player Kim Dunn, talented bass player Tom Easley and skilled guitarist Les Cooper, she pleased the crowd by performing a selection of her songs. We have reviewed her performance at the Evergreen Theatre, were expecting an enjoyable session and were not disappointed. Thanks again Jill. We look forward to seeing you again soon.
